Transcribe: Speech-to-Text for Enhanced Searchability and Editorial Speed

MediaCentral now includes native transcription capabilities that convert spoken content into searchable text directly within the Cloud UX search app. Key features include:

  • Transcript-aware search pills: A new search type allowing users to locate content based on spoken keywords.
  • Transcript status display: Operators can now instantly see whether transcripts are available for a given asset.
  • Subclip support: Transcripts are now linked to subclips, improving granularity in search and editorial workflows.
  • Interactive transcript editing: Highlighting transcript text now automatically selects the corresponding video segment, which can be added directly to a sequence—dramatically accelerating story assembly.

Translation: Multilingual Support for Global Newsrooms

To reduce manual translation overhead and improve accessibility, MediaCentral now supports on-premises transcript translation:

  • Select target languages for transcript conversion
  • Set default translation languages for consistency across teams
  • Edit and copy translated sections for reuse
  • All translation processes are performed locally, with no cloud dependency, ensuring compliance with data sovereignty and security policies

New: Avid Production Management

The 2025.10 release marks the first step toward unified content management across Avid platforms. The new Avid Production Management system enhances existing on-premises tech stacks with:

  • An SQL Engage database for scalable performance and efficient metadata handling
  • Multisite capabilities, enabling distributed teams to collaborate across geographies
  • Integration with the MediaCentral Rules Engine, allowing automated media management workflows within Cloud UX

This evolution lays the groundwork for a more cohesive and intelligent media infrastructure.

Acquire Workflow Enhancements

MediaCentral | Acquire is receiving several updates aimed at improving scheduling and ingest efficiency:

  • Automatic channel assignment: New recordings are now assigned to available channels without manual intervention, reducing setup time.
  • Improved channel display and sorting: Enhancements to the UI make it easier to manage and monitor ingest channels in real time.

Security and Platform Updates
