What’s New in MediaCentral 2025.6
There is a LOT to digest when it comes to the latest version of MediaCentral. But do not worry, here we are going to give you the inside track with the Top 5 things about the 2025.6 release. Let’s dive in.
PLAN SMARTER WITH STORY-CENTRIC WORKFLOWS
This release sees the big introduction of Wolftech News to the web-based MediaCentral | Cloud UX, and it is a gamechanger for story-centric planning, resource management, booking and more, now that it is combined with the media production capabilities of MediaCentral itself. In fact, it was already a winner before it was even released, winning Product of the Year at NAB 2025.

The combination brings together planning, resource management and equipment booking. It has integrated messaging and notifications to keep everyone connected. You can write stories for any platform, plus access all the media you need through new functionality added to just drag and drop assets and link them to a story. There is even a new web-based script editor for writing directly to a MediaCentral | Newsroom Management rundown.
You can do review and approval and use AI to help write all of the story versions you create to tailor to multiple platforms. You can also use automation to publish to online platforms, social media or even broadcast studios.
GO MOBILE WITH WOLFTECH GO
While all of this is available securely via the web-based application, MediaCentral | Cloud UX, there is also a highly capable mobile app too. Wolftech Go—which also won at NAB 2025, taking Best in Show from TV Tech—delivers on both iOS and Android devices, keeping teams in sync and on top of the story regardless of their location. The solution enables the most efficient workflows and allows reporting teams in the field to focus on the creative aspects of the story rather than the tech.

There is also a clear need to have highly advanced mobile tools available for journalists in the field, enabling them to carry out as much of their work as possible on a device rather than having to connect using a laptop for example.
The Wolftech Go app provides that level of functionality, putting the power to plan, create, review, message, send and receive notifications, schedule, upload and much more, directly in the hands of the team in the field. Visitors to the event were shown the depth of capabilities available in the app, which is on both Android and iOS platforms, for both phones and larger handheld devices.
AUTOMATE MORE WITH SMART PUBLISHING

AI has been in MediaCentral for some time, with Avid Ada Transcribe, and this is further augmented by the smart Publishing capabilities of Wolftech News, taking text and rewriting it into different formats.
But that is not the only place where MediaCentral is taking advantage of new technologies to drive workflows forward. The MediaCentral Rules Engine—a fully customizable automation processing powerhouse—is now combined with the MediaCentral Schedule Engine. Taking the mundane out of the workflow and processing jobs to a schedule dictated by the needs of the newsroom, this is another mighty powerful combination to help teams work more efficiently together.
WORK FASTER WITH HDR SUPPORT
Now you could call the developments we have already highlighted “Dynamic Duos.” MediaCentral and Wolftech. MediaCentral Rules Engine and MediaCentral Schedule Engine. But what about some other dynamic stuff? This time we are talking about high quality video processing, with High Dynamic Range (HDR) video support.

Now in MediaCentral | Cloud UX, it is simple to view when you are using HDR material, with a visual display highlighting when it is loaded in the video player—either with unedited rushes or in sequences. You can also search for HDR or SDR material to quickly get to what you need.
PERSONALIZE YOUR RUNDOWN WITH LIGHT THEME & LAYOUT UPDATES
MediaCentral addresses the needs of the modern newsroom which must be story-centric and digital-first to compete in the fast-paced world where news changes by the second. The broadcast show remains a key component of this work as well, and as we highlighted earlier, new workflows linking Wolftech News with MediaCentral | Newsroom Management.
In addition, there is also more functionality in the Rundown App in MediaCentral | Cloud UX, adding new layout options, timing displays and making it easier to move segments in stories. It is also a great way to see the new Light theme, improving accessibility options and which can be selected by users individually.

Now I could go on, but hang on, we said we were only going to highlight five, so there we go.
The release is the latest evidence that Avid is leading the charge in transforming newsrooms into more streamlined, efficient, and truly collaborative environments. Whether it’s through enhanced workflows, mobile access, or AI-driven automation, Avid solutions are enabling newsrooms to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving media landscape.
