iLOK
Pro Tools licenses are managed using the iLok License Manager, which can be used to activate and move licenses between computers. iLok Keys are USB dongles that let you carry your license to any computer.
Existing iLok Users
1. LOG IN TO AVID
Go to avid.com and log in. scroll down to the box titled “Linked iLok Account,” and click on “Link this account.”
2. LOG IN TO iLOK
Follow the prompts to enter your iLok ID followed by your iLok password. Click “Authorize” to finalize this connection.
3. CHANGE OR UNLINK
If you need to change your linked iLok or unlink you current ID, go back to my.avid.com and click “Change default iLok User ID” or “Unlink default iLok User ID” as appropriate.
New iLok Users
1. ACCOUNT AUTOMATICALLY CREATED
Go to avid.com and log in. scroll down to the box titled “Linked iLok Account,” and click on “Link this account”.
2. DOWNLOAD iLOK LICENSE MANAGER
Follow the prompts to enter your iLok ID followed by your iLok password. Click “Authorize” to finalize this connection. Download now.
3. FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS
If you aren’t already logged in, you may be prompted to do so. If not, go ahead and click on the three dots below Profile in the left navigation bar, then in the resulting drop menu click on the last item, “Sign In.” Enter your Avid credentials and Sign In. You will automatically be taken to the Products tab.
If you don’t see your product right away, check the status icon in the lower left of the Link window. Link has to find all your licenses and populate the Product page, so the first time you log in it may take a couple of minutes.
