Avid products require license activation on your local machine. This is typically handled through Avid Link.
About Avid Licensing
What is license activation?
To use Avid software on your computer, we have to activate your product license. This anchors that license to that computer. To use a different computer, you have to deactivate that license on that computer, and activate it on the new machine. Think of it like how you move a SIM card between cell phones, but for software.
For most Avid products you can activate and deactivate licenses in Avid Link. Pro Tools is different, using iLok License Manager to handle license activation.
