Avid Content Core 2026.07.02 — What's new?
This Avid Content Core release is shaped almost entirely by what you asked for: Quicker ways to move work forward, cleaner ways to find and organize content, and fewer steps between editing and approval. It's a maturation release that sharpens the daily workspace and smooths the way the platform runs behind the scenes.
Move work forward, not just around
Reopen a review without starting over
Approved or cancelled a review and immediately needed it back? You can now reopen it. A new reopen stage brings a completed review or approval task back into progress, reassigns it to the person who raised it, and notifies them automatically, so nothing stalls and nothing has to be recreated from scratch.
Stay in the loop on team tasks
Work now changes hands without anyone having to chase an update. Regular team tasks now send notifications as they move. Assign or reassign a task and both the new and previous owner are told. Change a task's state and the creator and assignee are kept informed.
Clear finished work in one pass
Housekeeping is now even quicker. Select multiple tasks with Ctrl + (Click) or Shift + (Click) and delete them in a single action, rather than one at a time. Private tasks are yours to clear; team-task deletion stays with workflow administrators.
Find and organize faster
See more at a glance with grid view
The landing page now offers a grid layout for your thumbnail widgets. Switch any film-strip view into a grid from the appearance settings to see far more of your content at once.
Organize favorite searches into folders
Group your saved searches the way you work—daily, weekly, monthly, or however suits you. Right-click in your searches, choose Manage Favorites, and drag your saved searches into folders. Refreshed favorites styling makes setup clear at a glance: A solid-color pill has attributes set, an outlined pill is still open for you to fill in.
Favorites that stay in sync
Your favorites now stay consistent between the Search panel and the landing page. Change an item in one and it's reflected in the other straight away.
Fewer steps between editing and approval: Request a review straight from the web editor
You no longer have to leave the web editor to get eyes on your work. Right-click a recent project on the web editor's projects page, or use the hamburger menu inside a project, and send it for review and approval without switching apps. It's a small change that removes a real handoff step, and one that nearly every customer asked for.
Smoother to run behind the scenes
Register new sites without leaving Content Core
Setting up a new MediaCentral site is simpler. The whole flow now starts in the Site Registry: Add a site, name it, and register, and Content Core handles provisioning. Once it completes, the site turns green and hands you a registration link to finish setup in MediaCentral | Cloud UX.
See system health at a glance
New status pills for the Control Plane and provisioning give administrators an immediate read on the platform. Green means good to go; amber and red flag anything that needs attention, so you can spot an issue before it reaches your users.
A more polished light theme
The light theme introduced in the last release has been refined across every app, with color issues resolved throughout and theme switching now taking effect instantly—no page reload.
Why it matters
None of these are headline features, and that's the point. Avid Content Core improves continuously, release after release, shaped by the people using it every day—not once every few years in a disruptive upgrade. Each change removes a step between your team and the story. Staying always current, never disrupted, is the whole idea.
