Countoff
Countoff provides a specified count-in before recording begins, letting you prepare for recording start. This helps musicians and performers internalize the tempo, giving you a moment to establish the beat before the music begins.
Enabling Countoff
- To enable Countoff in Pro Tools: Click the Countoff button in the Transport window, or
- Press 8 on your numeric keypad.
Once enabled, Pro Tools provides a set count-in before starting recording.
Adjusting Countoff Length
To change the Countoff duration:
- Go to the MIDI Controls section in the Transport window.
- Click on the Countoff setting and enter the desired number of beats for your count-in.
This lets you set up an ideal lead-in for different recording scenarios, providing time to prepare before recording starts.
